Job vacancy – Driver

The Consulate General of Lithuania in Chicago is seeking for an experienced Driver to join our team.

Official salary coefficient from 5.89.

The holder of the position shall meet the following requirements:

1. secondary education and/or acquired professional qualification;

2. driving licence entitling to operate official cars of the Mission;

3. have automotive skills, knowledge of the operation principles and structure of a vehicle;

4 knowledge of laws and regulations on road safety, road transport safety rules, first aid procedures and methods for providing first aid to a casualty;

5. knowledge of the rules governing the use of official cars of the Mission and the Ministry;

6. knowledge of and ability to properly select local and long-distance routes and to plan and carry out own work independently;

7. leaving no doubt as to the person’s credibility.

The holder of the position shall perform the following functions:

  1. Operate the official car(s);
  2. Transport the Mission’s staff, delegations and guests to and from business meetings and events;          
  3. Maintain the roadworthiness, interior and exterior cleanliness of the official car(s);
  4. Take care of maintenance of the car(s) and organize repairs where necessary;
  5. Take care of insurance for the official car(s);
  6. Complete documents relating to the car(s) and driving in a timely and responsible manner and keep records of fuel and other inputs and mileage;
  7. Deliver and collect mail, invitations and documents to and from various institutions, bodies and organizations, etc;
  8. Load and unload the car(s) transporting goods to and from the Mission as necessary; 
  9. Assist in organizing events and receptions at the Mission;
  10. Perform other occasional official tasks of the Head of the Mission.
     

Advantages: knowledge of Lithuanian, English, 1 year driving experience.

A fixed-term employment contract will be concluded with the employee. The selected candidate will be checked for the possibility of granting the right to work or access classified information.
