Lithuanian Consulate General will represent Switzerland in Chicago
Lithuania will represent Switzerland as of September 1, 2014, for the purpose of examining applications and issuing Schengen visas. Following the bilateral agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation the Consulate General of Lithuania in Chicago will represent Switzerland in issuing visas for short stays in the Schengen area for tourism, business and visits purposes.
Visa applicants originating from the consular district of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin should apply for the Schengen visa at the Consulate General of Lithuania in Chicago. Applicants originating from other consular districts and applying for other categories of Schengen visas should submit their applications to the Embassy of Switzerland in Washington or the Consulate General of Switzerland in New York.
Lithuania already has such agreements in regards of representation with Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Greece, Spain, Latvia, Norway, Netherlands, France, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Hungary and Germany.
